Cowes Fringe Festival Makes a Grand Comeback at the Commodores House.
The Cowes Fringe Festival is making a grand return, and for the first time is coming to ‘Down Below’ at The Commodores House. The much-anticipated return of the Cowes Fringe Festival is set to dazzle audiences with an array of performances from an eclectic mix of talented artists. Now in its second year, the festival is back with a bang, promising an unforgettable experience for lovers of great entertainment.
’Down Below’ at the Commodores House will provide the perfect backdrop for the different performances. Creating an intimate setting with the Solent Sea lapping at the quay outside. This iconic venue was once a warehouse and then became the home and workshop to boat designer extraordinaire Uffa Fox. John Terry, who grew up knowing Uffa for many years and is the current custodian of the venue said:
“We are thrilled to be opening our unique venue free of charge to support the local community and raise funds for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice. I am sure Uffa would thoroughly approve as he loved telling jokes and tall stories, mainly of a nautical nature and indeed he named the room “Down Below” as if he was living on a ship. He owned a grand piano, had a deep love of music and used to sing sea shanties and other ditties. So how wonderful to bring voices, music and a happy spirit into the house.”
