Sailing Through Royal History Exhibition. A Royal Yacht Britannia Experience.

We are delighted to host Sailing Through Royal History, a brand-new pop-up exhibition from The Royal Yacht Britannia Trust, at Commodore’s House from 31 July to 29 August.

The experience celebrates Britannia’s enduring connection with Cowes and its community, the close Royal links to legendary local yacht designer and builder Uffa Fox, and the Royal Family’s love of sailing.

Featuring archive photography, film and immersive displays, the centrepiece of the exhibition is Coweslip, the Flying Fifteen presented to Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip as a wedding gift from the people of Cowes following their marriage in 1947. Beautifully restored by the Trust and Cowes-based David Heritage Racing Yachts, she will return to our quayside where she was once launched.
