Thank You NHS

The Isle of Wight NHS trust has a scheme for young doctors working through their 2 year training period. They wanted to hold a summer ball to celebrate the year end and to say goodbye to those moving to their next placement.

We immediately offered them the venue to them free of charge as a gesture of thanks to the NHS. The young have certainly had it the hardest and have had a really challenging year. Until the end of the Covid restrictions, there was little opportunity for them to have fun together.

So the Grand Summertime Ball was born. And we did have fun!

Jane and I were invited to the black tie event. We met many charming and dedicated young people from all over the UK and the world. The evening was full of fun, and it brought home to us the value of such events for team building and celebration.

On behalf of the Doctor’s mess committee. We would like to say a huge thank you to the junior doctors for the dedication and exceptional care they have provided to the people of the Island throughout the pandemic
